Torque settings for Alloy Wheels

17 inch alloy wheel example

First thing to do when we get the campervan home is to refit the Fox alloy wheels.

It is difficult to find the torque settings on the internet. A general figure of 108NM is given in some charts but for steel wheels. Alloys require a higher torque setting, I believe and a figure of 110NM to 120NM has been found. ( Surely a fixed setting and NOT a range of settings is required)

The correct torque setting for wheel nuts is critical. Too tight and a bolt can shear. Too slack and vibration and hammering will shear the bolts. (have a look at You Tube videos of Russian dash cam crashes and see how many lorry wheels are coming off over there. As an aside, what is going on with Russian driving standards ???? )

I am certain that Jamie at Hot Hatch Corner will sort it for me, but if anyone out there knows the torque figs for Fox racing NV200 wheels please comment below
see Truck wheels coming off on a main carriageway (not Russian but they are still worth a look !)
